So I was going to go see 300 last nite, but then Hayley called me up and was all "let's go laser-tagging!" and I can never miss that, haha.
There were like, no open spots because of a birthday party so we had to call ahead and reserve one for 9:20. I shot over to Brittany's house and I was about ten minutes late getting there because of the crappy weather. Good thing was, she was running late too, haha. I swear to God, me and that girl have the best driving talks.
Drove to Lazer Quest and hung out there while we waited for everyone to get back from Yorktown. Then waited EVEN LONGER for the game to actually happen. It was good, but there was like, 6 little kids and one really creepy old dude. I came in 7th.
Then when we were leaving and Brittany came up with the genius-friggin' idea for a White Castle adventure, which was awesome. The old ladies were working last nite, except the one with the walker was missing. We got our food and couldn't figure out where we wanted to eat it so we went to my house. She met my mom, and somehow in the time it took to park Goliath, they decided to go to a craft show together. Hahaha, ouch. I have to carry twice as much shit now.
If anyone is interested, there is to be a gathering under my banner Sunday. Guitar hero will be enjoyed.
Sadate!

So I capped off this most stellar of weekends with a visit to the Brookfield Zoo.
It was rad, because it was EMPTY there. It was me, Brittany, Hayley, and Mike that went. Every place smells there worse than usual, haha.
And Apparently they have this room full of bats that I didn't realize had no fence in-between me and the bats. Scared the hell out of me for a sec, haha.
The food was pretty good, but there were so many little kids!
Then I drove Brittany home and went to my guitar lessons. I practiced some pentatonic and my teacher played a scale over which I soloed. I LOVE doing that. It's so much fun.
My truck is finally out of the shop. They removed the stupid alarm (remind me to tell you the story of the alarm incident sometime.) but now my headlights are fucked. I can only use my brights or my parking lights. I think the maintenance guys must be retarded. Oh well, gotta take Goliath back in Friday I guess.
Adios.

Whooooh.
Life has been fuckin' great lately.
Four day weekends are the best.
So thursday. I still have swimming in gym and we were in the pool and my teacher threw on a Rush mix cd, and only like me, and two other people knew who the hell it was which made her laugh. It was definitely a premo way to start the day.
Friday kicked a decent amount of ass. I WoWed it up. Nothing out of the ordinary.
Saturday has been the most kickass day this weekend. I went to breakfast at Blueberry Hill with my friend Brittany and it was grand. We went to Border's and walked around La Grange and junk. Border's was funny, because some creepy dude kept asking us about foreign films. Then I came home and went to the Oriental Art Musuem with my mom, which was pretty jaw-dropping. They had this crazy bull with a human head. It was cool there. I wish it were bigger.
Then we drove around downtown and went to Portillo's(surprise). It was good as always, haha. We went to Best Buy and I bought my favorite Kung-fu movie of all time:Black Mask. I also bought a Joe Satriani and Zug Izland cd.
I STILL miss you guys. Somebody call a shindig!
I think I'm gonna go hang with Camantia and Julius now. Keep it realz.

Well, me and Liz friggin' Cook were gonna go to Formal Saturday nite, but the inclimate weather put a damper on our uber plans.
So I basically stayed home and played guitar all nite. Learned some Slayer(not for the faint of heart) and some Sabbath! And this one ollllllld Rage riff.
I'm sooooooo super pissed. I found out the tickets for the Rage reunion show in April at Coachella are sold out. GAH! That would've been legendary. Eh, not much like I would've made it all the way out to California on my good looks anyway.
BUT! They do have 3 more shows planned this year in New York with the Wu Tang Clan! *hope*
Being sick blows ass. It wouldn't be so bad if not for the social stigma of a runny nose (gross, right?).
GUITAR LESSONS TOMORROW! Finally. My damned teacher constantly cancels on me. Never get taught by an active musician who plays shows once a month...or a guitarist for that matter, haha.
Why did I get a newsletter from Naz?
I miss you all. Stay alive for me, yeah?

I can't even get on the emergency closings web site. The plows are doing a terrible job of sweeping the 6+ inches of snow off the street.
This just may be the right brew for a Mortonian snow day!

...this feeling. It's confusing. I barely knew the kid...yet now...there's just this hole in me.
For those of you who didn't know, a classmate of mine, Adam Tebockhorst, died in a car wreck saturday nite. The early report is that the driver Michelle was dragging with another car (some people have told me 103 mph others have told me 153 mph.) and lost control. She hit the curb sending the car flying 8 feet off the ground where it hit a tree literally splitting the car down the middle. Adam and Stan died, while the other passenger walked away. Michelle is still in a coma and critical condition. If she ever wakes up from it she'll be faced with manslaughter and drag-racing charges to name a few.
Frances, Rick, those were all those cops we saw on the way home from White Castle.
English class was...indescribable. That class is like a family. And we lost one of our own. We literally did nothing but reflect in silence. Some people cried. My friend Chris went to the bathroom to find "RIP ADAM" written on the wall. I couldn't even look in the direction of his desk. He sat next to me. No one sat in his seat. No one would let anyone.
The last words I said to him were "Thanks, man." He had poured my sprite at our classe's pizza party on friday, a day before the accident. I think it was fitting. I hear there's a memorial at the scene of the crash on Burlington in Riverside by the Railroad tracks.

For you "off-the-record" folk(s) (Basically, Liz Friggin' Cook) "Go-time" is in T-minus 4-days and counting.
-ON THE DL-
I have high hopes. She wants me to watch "The Notebook" with her so she can "cry on my shoulder". Score?
-OFF THE DL-
I'm bringing Ghosthunters Season Two.
Wish me luck.

I just got done with some marathon Warhammer. Owned it up.
Gah, I'm tired of sitting around on crushes and not doing shit. I need to act.
(Don't worry, none of you know the girl, because I go to school with her.)
It's time for a new year, and with it, fresh faces, better-than-bulleproof plans, and most importantly, not being a fucktard and not moving my ass when I think I have a chance with said "awesome girl".
No regrets. It's go-time, baby.
Happy New Year, crew.

Everyone seems pretty happy, which makes me pretty happy.
So this all started Saturday when I woke up throwing up so violently that I broke the blood vessels under my eyes and had to miss football in the park AND Trans-siberian orchestra.
Sunday, I was decent, and I had gotten plenty of fluids in me so all was grand. Monday I went to school with a sore throat but by Fourth hour (think D-period) I was feeling like crap, and apparently it was showing.
I went to the nurse's office after lunch (I couldn't even eat. Yeah, I DON'T lose my appetite EVER. But apparently, I did.) And after she took my temperature with this nerdily cool thermoscan (you rub it across your face! who ever heard of that?) she gave me a look that meant one of two things: I was faking, or, I was boned.
I had a 103.2 fever.
So I had to go to the doc and now the waiting game begins. They don't think it's strep (I've had it before, I'd know myself.) so I'm not too worried. I really don't like having to get my throat swabbed for a culture. I have a legendary gag reflex, no joke, doctors/dentists have LOOKED at me with their instruments and I've gagged. Last time I had to get a throat culture (4th grade I believe?) Four nurses had to hold me down, and they barely could even get my throat, haha. I was a feisty lad.
I think I have to go back to the doc. She just called and said I need to get a strep culture. Fuck :/
EDIT:No strep throat. Woot for wasted gags?

TRIUMPHANT NEWS, MY FRIENDS!
The Radical Carp and The Kyle Maverick Experience have issued a merger to end the ages.
We, The Carp have been missing a drummer since Susan went to college and I replaced her as guitarist, and we've also been missing a bassist since Karl decided not to get a bass and stick with vocals. The Experience needed a guitarist, and a sax+trombone combo to be true ska. We have filled that role.
The new, as of the time of this writing, unnamed band consists of the following individuals and their instruments:Cowboy Billy-Bass Guitar, Steve Yang-Drums and Percussion, Karl Ockman-Vocals, Phil Potato-Vocals, Kyle Mav-Trumpet, Maggie C.-Saxophone, The Joe-Trombone, and finally, Tomadeus-Guitars and Harmonica.
Huzzah! Prepare for a ska-tastic explosion.
I'm in the process of writing the first ever ska-opera (like rock opera, but it's never been done, ya know?).

So I definitely pulled a Liz Cook. Supreme!
Scrubs? It's officially my favorite tv show. Officially. It somehow beat out Undergrads which is now second in command to the head cheese. Third would probably be Aqua Teen Hunger Force, followed fourthly by MXC, and finally Mission Hill and Clone High.
I've nearly finished learning to play Enter Sandman and have come to the conclusion that the better half of Stairway to Heaven is ridiculously easy to play. Seriously. It's all 7th and 5th fret basically.
Snow days are grand. I love this weather. Passed nite school with a D. I don't really give two shits as long as I don't have to have that teacher again. She was crazy and told my mom that I, as in, ME acted up. That's bullshit, clearly. I need to hang out with alot of people, and soon.
IT'S THE SLOW, PRETTY PART! (what's my age again?)

All is fairly well in my own little world, unfortunately everyone seems to be on an emo-streak. I dunno why but as good as junior year has been so far, it's also been pissing me off. I haven't been seriously/emotionally injured yet, but it seems everyone else around me is taking blows left and right and I can't do shit about it.
It really miffs me. Even if I had all the strength in the effing world I couldn't do shit to stop this bull.
I wish all the drama could just take a breather. It's like fuckin' Appollo Creed, just won't let up on Rocky.
Back to various (good) news tidbits. I am (somehow) getting a 102% in history class. I feel like a gigantic nerd because Mr. K. won't let me answer usually, and when he does it's only when the entire class is stumped. I've also got the two songs I have to play for the Winter Concert LOCKED DIZZ-OWN! Last, but certainly not least, I will be attending Winter Formal (my personal favorite dance) in the company of Frances' cousin, Gabi.
And so, the news was updated for the naz-ees, and it was good.

I promised an update by December, and guess what? I got a genius idea driving Liz Cook home from school today that plays into my laziness and the fact that I like to laugh at myself. Enjoy?
As you know, I happen to have a solid amount of anecdotes under my belt I generally refer to as some sort of "incident". I happen to enjoy whatever it is I do with these (storytelling?) but I don't think I'm very good at it outside of taking part in the actual events that transpire in the story, general exaggeration, and the delivery of the punchline. But I digress.
Incident #1 "The Retarded Incident" This, is a story I will tell my children and my children's children. It sucked (for me and the trippee) at the time, but looking back it's effing hilarious. Last Friday, I was hectically barreling through the halls of Morton W. West(I really don't know why I like to throw the extra W. in there. I have a feeling it has to do with my biology teacher, Mr. Fox, who has two facial expressions total.) as you often catch me on any given morning, when heading to my locker I was walking next to a "special" kid. He was walking with a kind of odd gait, and instead of stepping to his front, stepped to his side, on to my foot. The way it happened it looked like I tripped him, and he proceeded to fall flat on his face. I panicked considering the hallway was packed with about 100 sets of eyes, all turned on me and the trippee. Before any sentences containing the words "That", "douchebag", or "tripped the retarded kid!" could be uttered, I helped him up and proceeded to bolt. Totally killed my otherwise grand Friday morning.
Incident #2 "The poking incident" Ask Maggie Czerwien. Or take a peek at the desktop of my cell phone. This one is too gross for publishing.
Incident #3 "The Curly fry incident" Hayley really liked this story. One day, I decided I fancied going to Arby's and did so. If any of you know where I live, you happen to know I live about 2 blocks from train tracks I have to cross to arrive at Arby's. On the drive home I was going a little...let's say...speedy over the train tracks and physics decided it would be hilarious if the Arby's bag bounced 3 feet into the air releasing the contents all over the inside of my truck. Thank God I had the windows rolled up, eh? I'm still finding curly fries.
Incident #4 "Halloween '05" This one really has no point other than me running around Rick's neighborhood for an hour and a half with a hoodie on, cussing at children while proceeding to be told to "shut the fuck up" in front of said children by Mike Lichosyt. The nite ended in Halo, too.
Incident #5 "The Taco Bell incident" One time, I went go see "Talladega Nights" starring the fabulous Will Ferrell. When the movie let out, most everyone but Kyle, Phil, and Tom went home along their respective paths. We decided it would be fun to race to our cars and onward to Taco Bell (I lost both by the way, asshole.) Unluckily for Tom, Kyle and Phil had parked closer, sure enough he pumped his crazy legs to discover two unidentified female subjects smoking in front of his car. Citing "Don't worry ladies, I'm in a race" as his reason for scaring the crap out of them, he boarded Goliath and drove to Taco Bell on La Grange. Everyone piled into Phil's car and went through the drive-thru. It was a bonanza of Mexican delights atop the back of my truck. Ask Kyle what happened behind the dumpster. I still have a picture.
Incident #6 "The Internet Cafe, a knife, and some dick driving an Acura" I actually wasn't around for this, but here's how the story goes. Mike, Jag-bag Jay, and Carllo go to the internet cafe for some hXc gaming. Upon exit, they find a lad about our age driving up and proceed to gravitate around his car like weirdos (Anyone who knows Rick, Mike, or me, knows we do this). The guy proceeds to ask mike to "Back the fuck off", "Are you fucking gay?", and to "Get the fuck away from my ride.". Mike counters with repeated "What's up man"'s and the boy counters by pulling a knife. The nite climaxes in "Jay, he's got a knife! Run!" News:Jay was already at the car.
And so ends our "Journey to the center of McGuirk!" (I hope Rick catches that.)

I'm not exactly sure why, but I just got the damnedest wash of relief over me.
I think everything is gonna be just fine.

If you're going to talk me some trash, at least have some testicles and do it to my face (thank you stacy for telling me how you feel. even if i dont agree with you, ill defend to the death your right to think/say it.)
I dunno anymore...I'm just kinda...fed up...burned out...I'm just not happy with the way things are right now.
I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to do to fix it, but I am...it's just right now I feel like curling up and imagining all my problems away...
I just get this bad feeling in my stomach whenever I try to think, so im not even offered the solitude of my own "tidy" mind.
I visited Julie tonite, with Frances in tow. She seemed to be doing pretty good. She just kept getting nauseous. We built her a pillow fort. Good times were had.
Then we went to Dunkin Donuts when visiting hours were over and had a pretty grand time. It really helped take my mind off things for awhile.
I just need a long time to think and some fortitude to see the thinking through to the end...I think....wish me some luck, please.

Lordy, Warped Tour was amazing.
'Twas me, Kyle, Katee, Frances, Amanda, Gabi, Phil, Cowboy Billy, and Centracco and it just BLEW ME AWAY. Everyone put on an amazing show, even the bands I hated. It was real touching to hear this one singer talkin' about his first warped tour as a kid. Gotta love how music brings so many people from different backgrounds, creeds, classes, and all that jazz together. Nothing better.
I put on a mean mosh (when I wasn't holding everyone's shit, haha) and was surprised by how into it a few people got. I got some mean sunburn, but it was worth it for an amazing show. NOFX and Anti-flag put on an awesome set, along with the Casualties who did a beautiful Ramones cover. HelloGoodbye (i expected to hate them) did an exquisite cover of Blink 182's "What's my age again?" and i've pretty much fallen in love with Dork. Their singer looks like Tom DeLonge.
I picked up the new Dragonforce, and gotta say it's beautiful. I also bought the entire "Undeclared" series. Does anyone remember that show?
(WARNING:GUITAR SPEAK AHEAD ALONG WITH SHARP LEARNING CURVE.)
I'm currently working on saving up $150 for a beautiful, black, Ibanez acoustic, along with $300 or so for a Warlock(Not Zakk Wylde's acid bee. Too fucking expensive.), a Gibson SG(Mr. Jimmy Paige folks!), or an Epiphone Les Paul. Maybe a Fender Tele. Washburn just ain't cutting it anymore.
I'm going to wake up at noon tomorrow, go to Berwyn Finer foods and apply (yay, i might work with rick.), then im gonna go pump some iron with Kyle. Finally, raise some hell with the lady Erin. 'Twill be grand.

Ahhhhh, Def Leppard/Journey kicked ass.
I had been checkin' the weather reports the day of, and they kept calling for rain which royally pissed me off. Then it rained a little and it was all good. I got there a little late, but I think I only missed half of Journey's "Anyway you want it". I was kind of pissed because Journey not only lacked their awesome singer (steve perry) but there were only 3 of the original members.
I bought a def leppard hoodie, shirt, a journey shirt, and a journey hat. Frances, guess what, you have a new hoodie to steal off me daily now =)
I was trying to take video (which I figured was legal, I mean they didnt say jack about camera phones) and got caught during don't stop believin. The douche made me delete it, but luckily he didn't know about the vid I took during faithfully. That could've sucked.
Def leppard opened up after Journey finished and rocked the house. They had me standing the entire show. Honestly, best concert I've been to yet. They pretended to walk off stage and naturally I stuck around expecting an encore, especially because I knew that they couldn't leave without playing pour some sugar on me. They came back, played it, and told us how they'll be back and how much we rocked. I love when bands change up the lyrics at shows.
"I'm hot sticky sweet, from my head to my..."
Well he changed feet, but he kinda of bleeped himself I guess. I'm assuming it was something to do with the wang.
Frances, like I said I would, I thought of you when pour some sugar on me came on. Hahaha.
Next concert:Either Tool or Tom Petty or Rob Zombie/Godsmack. Maybe Ludo on the 28th, I hafta see about getting a crew together to drive up to Twin Lakes, Wisconsin or whatever. Grandiose!

Hey. Is it bad when you can't feel your hands?
I'm fuckin' cold as hell.
Anyway. Saturday I went to Erin's graduation party. It was killer. I gave her my gifts (burned cd with premo trax, queen shirt). And I think she liked them. We hung out in her basement and played drums and ping pong. Then she tried to use the bench press but it had too much weight so I had to put it back on the bar, haha.
I played cards outside, ate, had cake, and played bags with her family. I think(hope?) they like me. I blow at bags. Absolutely blow. Freebird was on the radio, made me happy. Her little cousin's are the type that like to make fun of me. Haha. They kept us on our toes to say the least.
We went to her little cousin's house around 10 to find some video and just kind of hung out while her cousins looked for it. Erin stole a popsicle. Haha. My kinda lady. We went back to Erin's and I could only stay for a few because I had to be home by 11:30. She showed me her amazing pole trick. Then her uncle's grilled me. Haha. I met her brother...guess who else drives a pickup?
Erin walked me to my car and she hugged me goodbye like...3 times...heh. I listened to Ludo the ride home, which was killer. I got home a few minutes after curfew (11:30) but it wasn't my fault. There was a freight train down the block, so it delayed me. I swear, I thank God for that train sometimes. It has saved my ass on several occasions.
